Replace data for the entire record based upon the last update date, or individual fields: whichever was updated most recently. You can block fields from merging, but let notepads get updated. You can perform a manual merge, and even edit individual fields on your database then switch to automatic mode.
Getting rid of duplicates with Merge/Purge option.
